Structural Vibration / Bridge Monitoring Case Study

We had the pleasure of working with a new client who approached us seeking a solution for an issue they were experiencing. The client had noticed minor cracks in a 50-year-old bridge. Due to the bridge’s frequent use, they wanted to evaluate its current condition and capacity, as well as determine any future maintenance that would be necessary.

Our team of engineers evaluated the most effective method for assessing the bridge’s current condition, and it was concluded that vibration monitoring would be the optimal solution. We developed a plan and discussed it with the client, ultimately agreeing to rent a wide range of equipment suitable for their needs to provide them with the data they required. Our engineers visited the site, collaborated with the client to identify optimal installation locations, and successfully set up the equipment.

Over four weeks, we closely monitored the data via a remote dashboard using 4G communication. After all the data was collected, the client received clear and detailed reports, which included various graphs illustrating the bridge’s vibrations. This information provided valuable insights into the bridge’s performance.

We offer a wide range of products available to rent, including but not limited to accelerometers, load cells, impulse hammers, vibration data analysers, data loggers, wireless instrumentation, vibration exciters and much more.
